Peter Cameron

,

Peter Cameron works by hand building porcelain in the Nerikomi style, the ancient Japanese technique of layering, cutting and staining the clay body. His artistic process consists of listening and observing the land in order to explore perceptions of being in the Australian landscape. Cameron describes the inspiration of his work, Lake Mungo, as a crucible. A place where time and space form different awareness of consciousness. Over the years, Cameron has engaged with the Muthi-Muthi people, the original caretakers of this body of land, and to whose generosity allowed Cameron to make these works possible.
