I believe all people have an innate sense forbeauty in the world around them. In our own unique way, we collect memories, form ideas and create every single day. I have always been drawn to nature and appreciated the art of creation and recreating from life. As a trained Natural History illustrator I have learned to focus my work on detail, accuracy and purity in my process. My illustrations, often scientific in nature, mimic the natural world and expose beauty, truth, and purpose within a living thing. I work whenever possible from real life which I believe brings an honesty and authenticity to every piece. I love to encourage people to take a moment in life and look at something which has been created, learn from it and be inspired. The Edible Garden Collection explores the deconstruction and creative display which is key to a traditional botanical plate; the focus of these being a gardeners produce table. It all began with a conversation between friends - discussing the simple pleasure of village life. The collection has developed naturally from the initial piece My Favourites, which brings to life the most commonly used fresh ingredients in my home. Over the years I have also formed quite a collection of objects, the process of finding and storing them in my studio satisfied a natural curiosity within me to hold onto unique and wonderful things. Two of a kind brings together five of these simple, yet beautiful objects in a dreamlike scenario where five equally unique creations become one with the object in a whimsical union.
